On 9 October, we held the official ‘Opening of Australia’s Largest Off-Grid Wind Farm and Market-Leading Hybrid Power System’. The Honourable Reece Whitby, Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Action formally opened this milestone power system highlighting that two Western Australian companies in Zenith Energy and Liontown Resources Limited were leading the energy transition for Australia’s mining sector with an energy solution that provides a glide path for a broader net zero Goldfields region.
Alongside the Minister, the event featured speeches from Hamish Moffat, CEO of Zenith Energy, and Doug Walker, Executive Chairman of Zenith Energy, as well as Kirit Chauhan, General Manager Project Development at Liontown Resources Limited, who spoke about the partnership with the Tjiwarl Native Title Holders. The unveiling of the plaque by the Minister alongside Tjiwarl Chairman, Brett Lewis, reflecting the important involvement of the Indigenous community in this project.
