On International Women’s Day, we’re excited to announce Zenith’s official pledge to Equal by 30, a global campaign aimed at achieving gender equity in the energy sector by 2030. Through this pledge, we’ll champion equal pay, leadership opportunities, and a supportive environment for women—truly making strides toward a more inclusive industry.
It’s the perfect day to reaffirm our dedication to creating a future where everyone can thrive.
As part of Zenith’s ongoing commitment to diversity, HR has actively explored ways to strengthen gender diversity within the organisation. After reviewing various external frameworks to support this goal, Zenith identified the Equal by 30 campaign as a key initiative.
Equal by 30 is an international gender equality campaign specifically designed for the energy sector. In Australia the campaign is lead by the Australian Government and supported by the National Energy Transformation Division, Energy Workforce Section, Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. The campaign focuses on achieving equal pay, leadership opportunities, and overall gender equality in the clean energy sector by 2030. By joining this initiative, Zenith is reinforcing its commitment to collaborating with industry peers to advance gender diversity.
The Equal by 30 campaign encourages organisations, companies, and governments to endorse its principles and take concrete actions to increase women’s participation in the energy sector. As part of this commitment, private sector organizations are encouraged to set measurable diversity goals.
Zenith has pledged to:
1. Lead by example by integrating equality principles into policies and strengthening gender diversity initiatives, particularly in recruitment and career advancement.
2. Support and promote women in the workplace by implementing tangible actions to close the gender gap.
3. Provide leadership in gender diversity by sharing experiences and best practices in diversity programs and initiatives.
4. Ensure transparency by improving the collection of gender-disaggregated data and reporting progress in an open and accountable manner.
The principles outlined above, provide a framework for a customized action plan.
Notably, there are currently no private sector organisations in Western Australia committed to this campaign.
By joining Equal by 30, Zenith is taking a proactive role in driving gender diversity within the energy sector and ensuring a more inclusive and equitable workplace.
