Employee Spotlight – Josh | Mechanical Intern
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Zenith Energy, I work with the Projects team creating P&IDs, layout drawings, specification documents, pressure calculations, and managing project-specific assets. I’ve been with the company for over four months and plan to continue to enhance my experience here.
I was initially drawn to Zenith Energy for its sustainable and innovative solutions for power generation, recognising the company as a leader in the independent power producer (IPP) space. Since joining, I’ve come to see it as a highly professional organisation with an enjoyable team dynamic. I’m glad to be a part of it.
The culture at Zenith is characterised by inclusiveness and enthusiasm. “The monthly barbecues and social gatherings play a crucial role in fostering this sense of inclusiveness,” and everyone’s passion for achieving results contributes to a healthy work environment.
One achievement I’m particularly proud of is developing a Site Data Sheet for Zenith’s latest project. “This document served as a reference for vendors to specify equipment requirements in various areas of the site. Additionally, it enhanced communication between the engineering and procurement teams.”
Zenith gave me my first opportunity to work in my chosen field of study, helping me complete the 480 hours of practical experience required for my degree. “They have provided me with valuable work experience that I can apply to my studies and future career after graduating.”
Work-life balance is also well supported: “Zenith has a well-established work-life balance, with the ability to work from home when needed and the flexibility to request leave.”
Looking ahead, “I aim to continue expanding my skills and knowledge at Zenith Energy. I see the company pursuing larger projects and growing its team.”
