7minThe Bellevue Gold Project has achieved net zero (Scope 1 and Scope 2) greenhouse gas emissions for the first half of 2025 making it the world’s first net zero (Scope 1 and Scope 2) gold mine.
Zenith Energy is proud to have partnered with Bellevue Gold to deliver the 90 MW hybrid renewable microgrid that made this milestone possible, integrating 27 MW solar, 24 MW wind, a 15 MW / 30 MWh battery energy storage system, and 24 MW thermal generation.
Last month, the site has achieved over three days running on 100% renewable energy, with gas and diesel generation switched off completely. The mine is forecast to average 80–90% renewable penetration over FY26, which is likely to be the highest of any off-grid mine in Australia.
